Frequently Asked Questions

Is this training a good fit for me?

This training is designed for apparel professionals working in technical design, design, patternmaking, or product development who want to deepen their understanding in a supportive, real-world context.

Do I need to be an expert to participate?

No. A working familiarity with apparel development is helpful, but this training is designed to meet professionals where they are.

Is the training live or recorded?

Sessions are live and instructor-led. Some materials may be shared, but the value is in live participation and discussion.

How large are the small groups?
Groups are intentionally kept small to allow for questions, discussion, and meaningful learning.  We cap our seats at 16 with a mix of in-person and remote attendees.

Will this help me in my current role?
Yes. Everything covered is practical and directly applicable to day-to-day work in apparel production.

Is this certification-based?
No. The focus is on building understanding, confidence, and real-world technical judgment — not testing or certification.

This training exists because many of us were never taught these skills – not because we weren't capable, but because the system skipped them.

🤔 Should I Take This Now or Later?

This guide is here to help you decide what’s right for you — no pressure.

✔️ This Training Is a Good Fit Now If:
  • You feel unsure or intimidated during fittings or technical discussions

  • You’ve worked with tech packs and BOMs but don’t feel fully confident owning them

  • Graded specs or size set evaluation feel confusing or stressful

  • You’re job searching and want to feel more prepared and grounded

  • You’ve learned “on the job” and feel like you missed formal training

  • You want to ask questions in a supportive, small group environment

  • You’re tired of second-guessing yourself

If you read this and thought, “Yes — that’s me,” this training will likely help you right now.

⏳ This Training Might Be Better Later If:
  • You’re already fully confident owning fittings, BOMs, graded specs, and production flow

  • You’re not able to attend most of the live sessions

  • You’re looking for a certification, credential, or formal test

  • You prefer self-paced video content instead of live discussion

  • Your schedule is too full to engage or ask questions

That doesn’t mean this isn’t valuable — it just means the timing might not be right.

💭 A Gentle Reality Check

Many people wait until they “feel ready.”

Most people don’t feel ready until after they build clarity and confidence.

This training exists to shorten that gap.

🤍 If You’re Feeling Nervous or Unsure

That’s very common — especially in this industry.

This is a small, supportive class designed for people who want to understand, not perform.

You don’t need to prove anything to be here.

🔁 If You’re Still Deciding

You’re welcome to:

  • Ask a question

  • Take a day to think about it

  • Join a future class

There’s no pressure to join this one.
